12:55PM – final preparations are being made. No systems are down yet.
1:25PM – final checks are being made. No systems are down yet, but estimating in the next 10 minutes.
1:45PM – shutting down systems as planned to make the required change. Estimated 30 minutes of some systems unavailable.
2:05PM – the major change is done. leaving less critical systems offline for a little longer while we run updates.
2:30PM – PRA and WiFi is back to normal. Leaving Remote Desktop off until more updates are completed.
3:15PM – updates are taking longer than usual, so all users facing systems have been returned to normal. There still may be some brief interruptions while we complete the updates.
5:30PM – all updates were completed and all systems are normal
There will be a partial outage for tomorrow to update some servers. The last update we did of this type had some unintended consequences. We are stopping some services before proceeding with the update out of caution.
Work is scheduled to start at 1PM CST. Work with the indicated systems down is expected to take 30 minutes. Additional work with possible system degradation will continue for about 1 hour after that.
Systems possibly degraded: WiFi, Microsoft Licensing, Email from internal systems (alarms, copiers, etc.)
Systems down during maintenance: PRA/Bomgar, Remote Desktop services
